Who We Are

Since 1892, history and tradition have charted the course for mission and ministry at Elvira. Faith is passed on from generation to generation by marking key milestones along the way. Christian fellowship necessarily accompanies those milestones from cradle to grave.

There is a strong sense of belonging, not only from family ties, heritage, and common history, but an underlying feeling of home and welcome. Members of Elvira Zion Lutheran Church are amazingly friendly and tremendously gifted and talented.Read More..

Meet the Pastor

 Pastor Jealaine Marple

Our God is worthy of worship. We gather each Sunday at 9 AM and at other times during the year to worship and praise our God for all that he has done for us. The Third Commandment is “Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.” Martin Luther teaches us that keeping this commandment means “We should fear and love God, and so we should not despise his Word and the preaching of the same, but deem it holy and gladly hear and learn it.” God expects us to be in worship regularly. Please join us.

We have several educational opportunities at Elvira Zion Lutheran Church. During the school year Sunday School is available for children up to and including sixth grade from 10:15 until 11:15 AM each Sunday morning. An adult Bible Studay class meets on Wednesdays from 10:00 until 11:00 AM. Everyone is welcome.

        Proverbs 3: 5-6

5     Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not rely on your own insight.

6     In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
